Is there a minimum job size?

No hard minimum, but we have a minimum call-out charge that covers a four-hour shift with one controller and transport. For jobs under four hours the call-out is usually the best-value option.

Yes — a big share of our work is overnight lane closures and utility shutdowns. Night crews carry Class D/N hi-vis, our trucks run illuminated arrow boards, and our designers work to AS 1742.3 night-rated standards.

What's the difference between a TMP and a TGS?

The TMP (Traffic Management Plan) is the over-arching document — risks, staging, stakeholders, control strategy. The TGS (Traffic Guidance Scheme) is the drawing used on site — where every sign, cone, barrier and controller goes. Most NSW jobs need both.

Who approves TMPs in NSW?

Local roads are approved by the local council road authority. Classified and state roads are approved by Transport for NSW, usually in partnership with NSW Police for intersection closures or high-impact work.

What's the typical turnaround for TMP approval?

Councils typically respond in 10–15 business days. TfNSW runs around 10 business days for straightforward classified-road TMPs, longer for complex corridors. Book at least three weeks out.

Does a council TMP work on a TfNSW road?

No. If the works occupy a classified or state road, you need a TfNSW-approved TMP and a Road Occupancy Licence (ROL) via OPLINC. We can lodge both on your behalf.

A simple council TMP for a single-lane closure typically sits in the low hundreds. Complex multi-stage TfNSW TMPs with stakeholder approvals can run higher. All TMP work is fixed-fee and quoted before any design time is booked.

What happens if the TMP is rejected?

Rejections come with review comments. On our fixed-fee TMP packages we revise and resubmit within 48 hours at no extra charge. Most rejections close out on the first resubmission.

How is traffic control pricing calculated?

Labour by role and hours, vehicles (ute / truck / TMA), plant (VMS, arrow board, water barrier), PPE consumables if applicable, and the TMP/TGS fee if we are designing. Out-of-hours loadings are itemised — no bill-shock.

Yes — a four-hour minimum call-out for a controller plus transport. For very short jobs (under an hour on site) the four-hour minimum usually still makes financial sense compared to dispatching and standing down a crew twice.

Cancel more than 24 hours before the scheduled start and there is no charge. Inside 24 hours we charge the minimum call-out (to cover rostered crew). Inside 4 hours we charge the full booked shift.

Yes — aligned to the relevant award. Penalty rates, overtime and public-holiday loadings are called out in the quote so you see the all-in cost, not the sticker price.

The shift supervisor walks the client rep through the site before pack-down, documents any variations, and emails a shift report within 24 hours. Sign-off is on our digital shift ticket — no paper lost in the ute.
